The agreement between you and us. We have tried to keep it short. Please read it before you open the ledger.
By creating an account, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. You may stop at any time — we will not hold it against you.
You must be at least 16 years old to use The Ledger. You agree to provide accurate information when you sign up and to keep your password to yourself.
Everything you put in the ledger — items, prices, photos, notes — belongs to you. You grant us a limited license to store, display, and back up that content for the sole purpose of making the app work for you. We claim no ownership.
You promise that anything you upload is yours to upload, and that it does not infringe on someone else’s rights.
The Ledger is offered “as is.” We do our best to keep it running, accurate, and pleasant to use. We cannot guarantee it will always be available, error-free, or compatible with every device.
The verdicts are an editorial opinion, not financial advice. Buy what you love. Or do not. The math is yours.
The Ledger is free during the beta. If we introduce a paid tier later, we will tell you well in advance and you may keep using the free version.
We may suspend or close an account that abuses the service — uploading illegal content, harassing other users (we have no other users yet), or attempting to break the app on purpose. We will write to you first if it is anything other than urgent.
The Ledger, its name, the wordmark, the typography choices, and all original copy on this site and inside the app are ours. Please do not reproduce them without asking.
To the extent allowed by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the app. Our total liability, in any case, is capped at what you have paid us in the last twelve months — which, during the beta, is zero.
If we change these terms, we’ll send a note from the desk. Material changes get 30 days’ notice.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA. Any disputes will be heard in the courts of New York County.
Write to hello@trytheledger.com with any questions. We aim to reply within three working days.
